The PostgreSQL 9.6 Beta2 version is out. Bugs from the previous version have been corrected and users are encouraged to try it to ensure there are no more occurrences of any of these.

The new versions of the famous pgpool II and pgpoolAdmin have been released.
New features include, among others:
- mark the local status of the failed node to "down"
- after the session is over, the child process will suicide to not retain the local status
- allow access to pgpool while doing health checking
